Building on personal branding to turn enquirers into customers for Wendy Dignan

When you’re a one-person business, it can be tempting to think you still need to present a corporate face to the outside world. But could you develop a closer connection to your target audience through strong personal branding instead?

When psychotherapist Wendy Dignan approached us for a new website and branding, she had one overriding goal: the new site had to convert enquirers into customers. And she recognised that strong personal branding on the site would be the best way to achieve this.

With a range of celebrity clients plus media credits covering everything from the Daily Telegraph to Cheshire Housewives, Wendy had very clear ideas about what she wanted and gave us plenty of inspiration. Where Wendy’s old site had been traditional and corporate in style, the site we designed and built for her is bold, high-impact, and sales-focused.

Wendy’s new site works for two reasons. First, because we designed all elements of the site to work towards the goal of persuading visitors to book a consultation. Secondly – and crucially – because we built the design around delivering a personal message from Wendy and showing her as a human being that people will relate to.

The success of the site is a great reminder that if your business is all about you, then there’s a good chance that your website should reflect your personal brand rather than a corporate one.

Boosting enquiries for cyber security firm Prism Infosec

Better targeting, more effective SEO and a boost in enquiries – that was the challenge we rose to when cyber security firm Prism Infosec asked us to create a new business-to-business website for their services.

We’ve provided website services for Prism Infosec since the firm started as a one-man band. Now operating from two offices, their range of services has grown increasingly complex over the years. We worked with the team to understand both their services and their customers, and to break down the offer into a set of specific services and service categories that match what the target audience are likely to be searching for. We then created a design with the services as the focus.

Result: a clean, professional website and brand that attracts the right people and gets them to the information they need quickly.

It’s a great example of a project that shows good website design is about so much more than simply visual appearance.

A new catalogue website for Range Exchange

At Range Exchange, it’s all about the product. The firm sell reconditioned range cookers from top brands, and came to us wanting a new look and feel for their website that would showcase the products effectively, give customers confidence in the company, and lead people to make contact.

We’d helped Range Exchange move online for the first time some years ago, so it was great to get involved with the update. For the new edition of the site we developed a simple yet sophisticated grey and white colour palette that shows product images to full advantage. Alongside this, we created an easy-to-use site navigation that takes people quickly to products of interest. The new site is fuss-free, inspires confidence, and, most importantly, leads customers seamlessly through the information-gathering stage towards making an enquiry about a product.

The site is easy for the Range Exchange team to keep up to date, too – vital in view of their ever-changing product range. Check out the site here.
